Bruce Mollison - Director of Communications

Born and raised in Edmonton Alberta, Bruce served in the Royal Canadian Air Force immediately after finishing school. After studying Electronics at NAIT he joined the BC Telephone Company in 1965. Moving to Cranbrook in 1976, he has lived here ever since. Now retired from BC Tel after 33 years of service, he has done volunteer work with the Canadian Cancer Society and the Terry Fox Run. He became interested in local politics and successfully ran in the most recent election for a seat on Cranbrook City Council. His hobbies include golf and skiing.

Collin Johnston - Director of Food Services

Collin Johnston has been the General Manager of the Heritage Inn in Cranbrook for the past 11 years and has over 30 years experience in the Hospitality Industry. Collin and his wife Lois have three daughters - two in Calgary and one that lives in Helsinki Finland. They also have two grandchildren. Collin is an outdoor enthusiast who loves all outdoor activities from hunting/fishing to quading and golfing.

Maria Kohlman - Director of Friends of the Games

Maria Kohlman

Maria has been a resident of Kimberley for 18 years and is a self-employed bookkeeper.  She wanted to become involved in the games because her son has had the opportunity to participate in both a BC Summer and a Winter Games. Maria wanted to extend the same opportunities to other kids that was shared with her child.  She has been a supporter/volunteer for the Kimberley North Star Racers for eight years, and is entering her eighth year with the Kimberley RCMP Auxiliary program.  She enjoys spending time and keeping fit in our beautiful outdoors.


Aileen Boyd - Director of Medical Services

This Kimberley resident of some 15 years was the first woman firefighter in Kimberley. A wife and mother of two daughters, she and her husband own and operate a First Aid training and supplies company. Aileen started her career in First Aid more than 20 years ago as a member of a mine rescue team. This lead to her becoming a paramedic with the ambulance service and eventually to her instructional career. During a 2 year stretch in Trinidad and Tobago, she worked for a Nova Scotian company training paramedics. She and her husband are committed to their community and to non-profit organizations.

Laurie Reed - Director of Promotions

Laurie was born on Vancouver Island, and spent much of her professional life in Victoria working at such noted tourist attractions as the Royal BC Museum and The Butchart Gardens. She came to this corner of the province six years ago, and until recently, was the Marketing Manager at Fort Steele Heritage Town. Laurie serves on the tourism committee at the Cranbrook & District Chamber of Commerce, and enjoys sitting on ad hoc and event committees for community celebrations. She is currently participating in the Leadership BC program. Laurie is delighted to apply her 20 years of marketing and event management experience to the success of 2007 Kimberley-Cranbrook Winter Games! She and her fiancé Glen love their little patch of heaven in the Kootenay Rockies, and enjoy exploring the area with their “canine kids”, Jake & Libby.

Desiree MacKay - Director of Protocol

A true daughter of Kimberley, Des was born and received her early education there. Now retired from the education field, she was both teacher and administrator, first in Creston and then in Kimberley where she now resides. Not one to rest on her laurels in retirement, Des is Chairperson of the Kimberley & District Community Foundation, Chairperson of the McKim Theatre Society, a Director of the Sullivan Mine & Railway Historical Society and to top it off is Head Gardener at 42-101 Avenue.
